Prescott Parade

We woke up early this morning sad that Valerie left last night, but ready to go to a parade in downtown Prescott. We had a lot of fun. The kids got some candy, toothbrushes, fans, flags, and after the kids were done watching the parade, we walked around the courthouse where booths were, and the kids each got a cotton candy... the pictures are priceless...

more pics to come... still putting collages together :)

Edited Movie

I ordered Cody a gift from a place that edits movies. He's wanted to see "Act of Valor" for quite some time, but it is rated "R" so that was of course not going to happen. Well, it came out to DVD and BluRay, so I kept my eye out for it to be edited... And it was! It was so fun surprising him with it.

First Step!

Weston took his first step tonight, right after scriptures and prayer! And we were all there to witness it :) even Valerie. He's growing up way too fast... I miss the newborn stages, but I must say, I love this stage too!

Movie and the Grand Canyon

This morning I took Valerie, Hailey, and Xander to the movie theater to see Disney's "BRAVE". It was a really cute show, minus the booty scenes and the cleavage. The story line was great, and Valerie was so excited they have a princess with red hair now (althou I still say its orange).

Later Cody and I took Valerie and the kids to see the Grand Canyon. It was so beautiful... I went when I was about 14, but I forgot how breathtaking it is. It's amazing that we only live like 2 hours away from such grandure that the Lord has given us to see and enjoy! On our way home, somehow I pulled my back reaching behind my chair in the suburban... No fun... I finished my homework, we put the kids to bed, and Cody put in a movie... It was a great memorable day!

County Prosecutor

We've felt for a while that we needed a change in jobs; Cody likes his job, but we felt we were needed elsewhere. We didn't know where we were supposed to go, so we went to the temple, and prayed really hard. Cody felt like he should change from being in civil litigation to becoming a prosecutor, so we decided to take steps for him to become a prosecutor.

Cody put in for Maricopa County Prosecutor, and got an interview,... the day he got the interview, he received a call from the Yavapai County Prosecutor's office. They said that they heard through the "secret" grapevine that Cody was interviewing with Maricopa, and said they have a position open, and wanted him to interview with them. He interviewed, and yesterday was called and offered the position! We feel good about staying here in the Prescott area. Everything happens for a reason, and we know that as long as we are following God's commandments, we will be led. It's funny that Cody will be working directly across the street from where he is right now. He is so excited to be a prosecutor, and can't wait to get the "bad guys" the sentencing they deserve :) He still has to tell Alex (who's away for the rest of the week), but he'll probably be starting July 2nd. It will be so nice to have benefits (health insurance + vacation time)! Now we know we're staying, and we can start searching for a house soon... probably start in July, since our lease ends in September.

We feel really good about our decision to stay here in the Prescott area. Cody said after he got the call from the prosecutors office, he began to say a prayer, and just prior to his prayer, he felt the impression that it was our choice whether to stay here or go back to the valley. No matter the path we chose, we would wind up being where the Lord wants us to be, and the path He has planned for us. Cody said he invisioned a straight line that forked, and then came back together. We've been blessed to know that when things are right, they fall right into place very smoothly. I love knowing that I have such a righteous husband who is so in tune with the spirit, and is a worthy priesthood holder; who honors his calling of father and husband. I married such an amazing man. I love him so much!

Snorkel Gear

Xander loves to spend time outdoors. Today wasn't any different. He found some snorkel gear and proceeded out to my inlaws backyard where the sprinklers were going off in his bathingsuit. From there... the picture tells the story. He followed it around for a good 5 straight minutes. He cracks us up. I love my X-Man!!

Rodeo~Bearizona~Dance

We took Valerie to a rodeo in Williams, AZ today, and then we went to Bearizona... it was lots of fun! Driving through bears, wolves, bison, and then walking through the zoo part with baby bears, and even a petting zoo...lots of fun! Then we rushed back because Valerie had a dance tonight, she got ready, and I did her hair (in a waterfall braid) and makeup... (which was a lot of fun!)... it sure is fun having her here!

29

I can't believe I'm 29! I definitely don't feel like it. I mean, I know I have four kids and everything, but I still feel like I'm 20-23.

Since Cody had to work, I had breakfast made for me and opened my presents before he left; for lunch we picked him up and went out to Red Robin. After that we played at the pool for a few hours, and then Cody came home early with a dozen roses and Valerie made me my favorite dinner, Tuna Casserole. We also had cake that she made for me... it was nice getting to spend today with my family, and I was so excited that Cody came early, and my teacher gave me an extra day to turn in a paper :)

I also got a special gift from my mom and dad sent in the mail, complete with a flower cake, a teddy bear, a balloon, and chocolates!

Sedona Hike

We went to "Call of the Canyon" in Sedona, AZ today with Valerie... LOTS OF FUN! We love hiking up in Sedona, and we loved sharing that and of course... going to coldstone...

after we got back, Val watched the kids (most fell asleep on the way home... so she really just watched Hailey) and we went on a date (since my birthday is Monday) We went out to dinner at Fireside Grill, YUM, walked around downtown Prescott, and went to Walmart for things we need for Sunday :)

and it is done...

So I came out of the bathroom (yes, I know you wanted to know that)... to Weston out of his playpen, and Xander trying to put a diaper on him. Hmmm...

Xander said Weston took off his diaper in the playpen...

I go into my room, yeah, it smells, I see a diaper, I see lots of other fun things Weston left...

I go over to Weston, and yup... he needs a bath.

I volunteer Valerie for option #1 or #2... bathe Weston or clean his playpen. She went for the playpen, and was a good sport about it {poor thing}.

Weston screamed in the bath, but eventually after I finished scrubbing, draining, refilling... he decided bubbles are fun... then I told Val she could watch him and I'd finish up the playpen enlisting Xander for a volunteer scrubber. Xander told me he was going to throw up... a little bribery with money did the trick just fine... after cloroxing, lysoling, vacuuming... all I need to do is finish airing out my room and we're all set.

**Note to self** - Weston is too old to not be wearing pants or a onesie... He's too strong, and he WILL take off his diaper {especially} if he's poopy!

{i wonder if Cody knew this was going to happen so he went to work this morning without his phone...haha...oh well...it is done}

...and for your sake, no pictures are included ;)

Time in Utah

We've spent some time in Utah for Jason and Alina's wedding, (we stayed at the Marriott in Salt Lake for 2 nights with Valerie) and then Cody went back to work while we stayed an extra week. It was lots of fun spending time with my family. I got to spend a few extra days with Lauren and Brian, and it was so fun seeing them! It's been quite a while since we've all been together... of course Nathan is still on his mission in Mexico, but we had a lifesize cut out of him, and tied balloons on his hand, so he was with us in spirit, and sortof literally ;) We went to Trafalga, the kids went to school with my mom, we went to the school carnival, played lots of card and dice games, talked, I did homework and took quizzes, exams, and wrote a paper... we watched movies (and say yes to the dress), celebrated Valerie's 15th Birthday, I held Valerie as she fainted in my arms... literally... she kept saying "I'm blacking out" and "All I see is black" I said she was fine as I knew she wasn't feeling well, and then I saw her pupils... dialated where there was no iris, and she was ghost white. Luckily we were at my soon to be uncle James' graduation party, so my family was there. It was pretty crazy. We also saw a deer weeding Valerie's pea garden... but it didn't eat the peas!

We were lucky enough to take Valerie back with us to Arizona and she'll spend a few weeks with us partying, spending time in the pool, and who knows what else :)

more pics to come...I'm trying to catch up on posts for now :)
