Weston's Baby Blessing

Weston was blessed today in church. It was a beautiful blessing! Thank you to all our family and friends who were able to come! Funny thing~ Bishop said his name was Winston as he was announcing it this morning :) Oh well :) He was blessed in the Thayer Park Ward-cross streets: Lindsay and Des Moines in Mesa.

This is his blessing... John had his phone record the blessing so I wouldn't miss anything...

Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ, and by the authority of the Melchizedek Priesthood, we present this infant unto thee to give him a name. And the name that he shall be known, is Weston Philip Johnson.

Weston at this time we bless you to have a burning desire to know the gospel and to share that gospel with everyone you come in contact with. I bless you to know of our Heavenly Father’s love for you. And the sacred truth that you are a son of God. I bless you to conduct yourself as such. I bless you to be a tool in the Lord’s hands and to build His kingdom here on earth. I bless you to be compassionate unto others that you may help build that kingdom, one block at a time with acts of kindness. I bless you to defend those who cannot defend themselves in word and deed; that you will be a powerful example of Jesus Christ here on earth. I bless you with the desire to learn the scriptures and to follow their guidance in your life. I bless you with the strong desire, that you will serve a mission unto the Lord and find a worthy companion to enter the Lord’s house and be sealed forever and have your own family. I bless you that you will always have a strong desire to follow our Heavenly Father and help all those around you to do the same. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

After the blessing we went back to Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's house, where we had yummy lunch... it consisted of Pulled Pork sandwiches, Baked Beans, Chips and Cowboy Caviar/Salsa/Guacamole, Broccoli Salad, Potato Salad, Ice Cream Sundaes... YUM! Thank you to everyone who could make it, and those who couldn't, we know you wish you could have been there!
