Yesterday, Hailey got to walk home from school with her friend Emi Handley (who has an older brother in 5th grade). Every Thursday, Emi's mom has a "Cookie Day" where her kids can invite friends over for an hour to make and eat cookies and sweets. This was Hailey's second time at "cookie day" but her first time walking home with Emi. (Of course I had to spy on her to make sure she got there safely,...and of course, she caught me. Oh well, at least she was excited to see me). Hailey and Emi were walking holding hands and laughing and running away from boys, yet waiting for Emi's brother, Gage, to catch up to them, before they would head further up the sidewalk (*note about Gage - he is Conner Payne's best friend). Then Hailey and Emi saw their friend Marie, who was also going to cookie day, and they hitched a ride with her mom the rest of the way. That's when Hailey saw me. She had so much fun, and can't wait to walk home with Emi every Thursday for the rest of the school year.
