Xander is Realistic...

Xander is adamant about something... today he said,

"Harry Potter isn't real; he's not in the scriptures."

"Daddy taught me that everything in the scriptures are true, and Harry Potter isn't in the scriptures."

And he's right... on both accounts :)

Our New 'Burb

Well, Cody actually got this for me for my birthday, we picked it up a few days after my birthday, but I never posted about it... I got a 2008 Chevy Suburban, and I LOVE IT! It fits all the kids, has remote start (which in the Arizona summer is FAB!) Has 2 movie screens with wireless headphones, a 6 cd changer, Chrome Wheels, V8 Votec Engine, Tow Package, Rear Sensor, Costco Sized Trunk Space :) ... the only thing it doesn't have is 4 wheel drive,... I love the color, and the room :) A lot different than a Kia Spectra. We traded in both our vehicles, Cody was sad to see his Ram Charger go, but kept his "Angel Moroni" hood ornament as a memory :)

Tidbits before I forget...

I know I'll forget these things one day, even though I think I won't... so I'd better get them down while they're still in my head :)

Hailey has dance moves that scare me... she's always shaking her hips and making pouty kiss faces...don't ask where she got it from...

Xander said something funny the other day... "I think the rain clouds slobber on us". And when he grows up, he wants to be a cowboy and a garbage truck driver.

When I'm putting Brielle to bed I always do the "I love you" sign in sign language... she can't do it yet, so she just shows me her hand. Some nights/naps she beats me too it. Too cute!

Weston on the other hand will drink his bottle and have the "I love you" sign pressed up against his cheek. I keep trying to get a picture, but as soon as the camera turns on, he moves his hand.

Scorpion

So I've spotted about 4 scorpions during the duration of my living in Arizona... and that goes back to when I was first married and living here... (approximately 4 years). Today was the 5th... and the biggest one. 

I was sitting in the front room and Brielle came in and bunked her nose on the chair. She came over to me so I could kiss her nose better. I did, and then looked down by her feet. Something didn't look right in the carpet 1 inch from her foot. As it moved toward her foot with it's tail raised to strike I realized instantly what it was (a scorpion) and like a ninja I swept her onto the couch with me and called for Cody. Lucky for me it's Saturday and he's home! My heart was racing, and I am SO glad that it didn't get to her before I did!

Cody killed it, showed all the kids what it looks like, told them to stay away from them, and then took some pictures of it (shows how few times we see them). Plus he wanted me to put it on my blog -aka- our family journal :)

1st Day of 1st Grade

No more kindergarten playground, there's more to learn, summer's over, it's 1st grades turn!

Hailey's first day of 1st Grade was today!!!

I took Hailey to the salon to get a feather put in her hair.

Her teacher's name is Mrs. Coble.

Hailey loves school, and came home loving it still...YEA!!!! She even came home telling me her name was drawn from the "Love Box" and she got to pick a treasure out of the treasure chest.
