MVD Experience

I swear you have to pass an idiots test to work at the MVD (Motor Vehicle Division)

I went to get my drivers license today... waited in the forever long line (with all three kids), filled out the paperwork, paid the fee, took my picture, and got my drivers license.

They spelled the street name wrong,... but everything else was right.

Waited in line again, finally spoke to the right person, they had to talk to numerous people, had to retake my picture, and waited. Watched while people who took their pictures after me kept getting their drivers licenses... found out they "lost" mine from the printer to the 5 steps to the counter... they reprinted one... I took it, made sure the street name was correct and left.

Later I'm at the library getting a library card so the kids can check out books... the lady behind the desk says... "What is up with your drivers license?" I was like what??? She showed me they put
MESA FL 32765

That's right, I live in Mesa, Florida... along with my old zip code... 32765.

I am not going back. I'll change it eventually online.

I hope I don't look 9 months pregnant in this picture!

the infamous cast

The cast is off!!! We went into Cactus Pediatric Orthopedics today and Dr. Hrasky cleared him to get it off after looking at the x-rays they did today. Xander was laughing as they sawed the cast off, he said it was ticklish. When they went to pull the 3 pins out of his arm... he was SO BRAVE! He didn't cry or even make a noise. He looked at them doing it until he realized he didn't like how it felt and just looked at me. I reassured him how brave he was and he was doing a great job. He did AWESOME! After they were out, the nurse turned to me and asked if I wanted to keep the pins. Xander replied with a quick, "no". He thought they wanted me to keep them to put them back in later... LOL! When I explained that wasn't so, he was like, cool, can I hold them? After we walked out, the kids were getting a drink, and I overheard the nurses telling each other how good Xander did while they took out the pins, and how he did better than most adults they know. GOOD JOB XANDER! You should be able to swim on Saturday! (he has an ace bandage like wrapping on his arm that has to be there till Friday evening) After that, it's 4 weeks of babying the arm... no running, jumping, playgrounds...etc. Basically he can't be a boy for a month... poor guy!

The cast is still on...

We took Xander to the doctor today,... he was supposed to get his cast off. They said that the bones have fused nicely, but they want to see more growth or something, so he'll go back in 6 days to get it re-evaluated. Sorry buddy! At least it's still June, and you'll be able to swim soon!

The last two days...

I've had fun playing and spending time with my kiddos the last two days.  My pregnancy has been getting harder and harder as I get closer to delivery with contractions and constant discomfort... but I've been trying to find ways to spend time with the 3 kids before we add another little addition. I took the girlies swimming today in my in-laws backyard, and have been reading lots of stories, playing games, watching them play so nicely together, and watching movies together. Hailey even begged to paint my toe-nails... too cute! She also made her own recipe for dinner and made that tonight (rotini noodles with cheese). I love spending time with my kids! I love the blessings of being a stay at home mom!

Another Year Older...

I am 28 years old today... kindof a hard one for me - silly I know, but I keep thinking, 28 is one year away from 29, and then it's 30! When I'm 30 I have to GROW UP!

It was so fun today. Cody and the kids made me waffles with fresh fruit placed in a smiley face, I opened my presents, my sister-in-law Traci took me out to lunch at Paradise Bakery where we met up with my mother-in-law.
We checked out a couple of mini-vans at a dealership... had fun times playing games at home and Cody made my favorite dinner, Tuna Casserole... had yummy ice cream/brownie cake and read the kids a story before putting them down for bed, and then Cody and I went out for a date. We went and watched the newest X-Men.

It was a great day!

Les Miserables

Tonight as a birthday present to me, my in-laws took me and Cody (along with the rest of the adults in the family - except for John who had to work... instead Traci took Kylie) to go see the Broadway Musical - Les Miserables. It was fantastic! I love Broadway!!! I had never seen it live before. I think my favorite song and singer was Eponine when she did "On My Own". The only number I didn't care for was "Master of the House"... a little too provocative. But all in all... a FANTASTIC EVENING! I love getting dressed up and going to a show! And a big thank you to Courtney Kinnard for watching the kids this evening! She is a fabulous babysitter!!

Time in Utah 5/27 - 6/8

Cody dropped me and the kids off at my parents house so he could get some real good study time in for the bar. We surprised Valerie for her 14th birthday, and he left on Memorial Day...while he was here we went out on a date to Cafe Rio and to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean - On Stranger Tides. Good movie!
It was a great week and a half spending time with my family. We played games - mostly yahtzee and canasta, Hailey went to school with my mom where there was a dance, a carnival, and lots of fun for their last week of school... watched Kung Fu Panda 2, we went out to eat, celebrated my birthday, watched it hail outside, I FINALLY creamed my mom at Canasta, washed my dad's harley, played with the dogs, went to the park, went shopping for TONS of clothes for the kiddos (thanks mom and dad!) talked, and had lots of fun. I even helped my sister get ready for her first and second dances :) I love my family! I am sooooooo glad they are just a drive away!
